Gulfport Police are investigating a shooting that left three individuals injured following an incident at a busy gas station shortly after 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.
According to authorities, officers were dispatched to the scene after receiving reports of gunfire at the location. Due to the gas station’s high-traffic setting, the incident quickly drew a large emergency response and significant public attention.
When officers arrived, they located three people suffering from gunshot wounds. Emergency medical personnel were also called to the scene and immediately began providing treatment to the victims. First responders worked to stabilize the injured individuals and assess whether transport to nearby hospitals was required.
Police quickly secured the area and established a perimeter around the gas station as part of their investigation. Officials temporarily restricted access to portions of the scene while evidence was preserved and emergency operations continued. Witnesses in the area were also interviewed or asked to remain nearby as investigators began gathering statements.
The sudden outbreak of gunfire caused panic among customers, employees, and nearby motorists. Because the incident occurred in a public and heavily traveled area, many bystanders reported being startled by the sound of gunshots and the rapid arrival of emergency vehicles.
Law enforcement officials are now conducting a full investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting. This includes reviewing surveillance footage from the gas station and surrounding businesses, collecting physical evidence, and speaking with witnesses who were present at the time of the incident.
Authorities have not yet released the identities of those involved or confirmed what may have led to the shooting. It remains unclear whether the incident was targeted or random.
The investigation is ongoing, and Gulfport Police are expected to provide additional updates as more information becomes available.
