The Sheffield community is mourning the tragic loss of 30-year-old Shanice Brookes, who died following a shooting incident outside a bar in the city centre in the early hours of Monday, May 25, 2026.
According to South Yorkshire Police, emergency services were called to West Street shortly before 2:45 a.m. after reports of gunfire outside the One Four One bar. Shanice was an innocent bystander when she was struck during the incident.
Paramedics provided emergency treatment at the scene before transporting her to hospital, but despite their efforts, she was later pronounced dead as a result of her injuries. Her family has been formally informed.
